We’re feeling pretty settled with our four girls, and chances are that even if we do expand our family in the future, it won’t be through another baby. That makes rejoicing with friends when they welcome a new baby into their family even sweeter…especially when they welcome their first little girl!

There’s something so special about little girls, and as many pitying looks and clucking tongues as our family gets when we’re out in public about “poor daddy” and “you better get the gun ready”, I absolutely love having four little girls and wouldn’t have it any other way.

That’s why I’m so excited to join an amazing group of food bloggers to count down the days until Aimee from Simple Bites, who I’m privileged to call a friend, welcomes her first little girl!

Join us for A Baby Shower for Aimee, hosted by Amber at Bluebonnets & Brownies!

These pomegranate smoothies are delicious, with a perfect blend of sweet and tart, and best of all, they’re pink! (The dark pink smoothies are a non-dairy version, while the lighter pink version uses yogurt.) I was also excited to stumble across this paper wine glass charm idea from How About Orange, and I used washi tape (colorful masking tape) to make my own!

Oh, Mandi, imagine my surprise to see your post pop up in my Twitter feed this morning with my name on it! I’m so surprised and touched by this sweet virtual baby shower. Thanks for being a part of it!

Your smoothies look like the *perfect* way to start the day, and pomegranate is a favorite of mine. I’ll take two (one for the baby, of course).

Mandi, I’m so glad this baby shower brought us together! I love your site, but have never had the chance to “meet” you before. Thank you for being a part of celebrating Aimee, Danny, the boys and that darling baby girl. Those smoothies look like exactly what I need this morning after baking until midnight.

Hi Mandi, I’m so glad u mentioned u have 4 little girls cause that’s what I’ve got too. Wonderful I think a house full of girls is the happiest house :) Of course my husband groans every time he realizes they’re growing up and needs to get the guns out and probably the body guards!! shucks, we just got back from a vacation. i totally did not prepare ahead this time since we are also in the middle of prepping for my bil’s wedding this wkend. i tend to just ignore things when i’m overwhelmed. :/ i’m planning for another trip already (well, after the wedding anyhow), so i’ll keep all this in mind. :)

Timely post for me.  We’re planning to go on our summer vacation road trip in one month.  I want to be organized and prepared.  I too would love to avoid that day before we leave craziness!
